Plex on Synology NAS: Cannot find photos

Hello
Just installed Plex on a Synology NAS. On the NAS, I have a folder ‘Photos’, with different subfolders, all with their own subfolders.
In Plex, I created a new media library, type ‘Photos’ (pictures), and then choose one of the subfolders, for example:
/volume1/photo/Holidays

After adding, nothing is found. What can I do? I have a user called Plex with R/W rights on the NAS, this was created automatically.

I think the Photos folder is something that Synology creates for its own use and Plex struggles with the permissions on this.

Try creating a different folder for you photos and make sure the Plex user has access to the new folder.

Thank you! This helped! I created a new folder called ‘Fotos’ and copied an exisiting subfolder with photos in there.

Should I then move all my photos - on the NAS - from ‘Photos’ to ‘Fotos’?

Unless you are using any other Photo software from Synology on your Nas, then I probably would.

Plex does not get on with the default folders that Synology Creates, this includes both the Video folder and the Photos folder.

Basically I create a structure simailr to this on my nas and keep all my media there:

myMedia
– Music
– Photos
– Films
– TV

Yes, thank you - that’s what I just remarked: when using DS Photo Station, there is no way to include the new created ‘Fotos’ folder!.. I will see…

If you look at post below mine in that thread I linked to above.

If you are comfortable with the shell you could try changing the permissions of the Photos folder that way and see if Plex can then read the files in the Photos folder.
