No plex server found w/ remote connection

I’ve read that Plex users had ‘certificates’ changed as a fix, but I don’t know how to do this. Do I need to link any info for response?

As with others I’ve tried everything suggested.

Thank you for any help!

What did you try and to what exact outcome?
„Trying everything“ is rather vague when it comes to troubleshooting a technical problem …

Do you mean you did already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot remote access issues…

When you mention certificate issue… did you assign an individual server certificate to your Plex Media Server?

By everything I just meant trying general troubleshooting suggestions. What’s happened over the last four months is I’ll receive a green check on ‘remote access availability’ then 20-30 days later it fails and server shows offline. I’ll reset and 30 days later Plex is ‘blocked’ again As if it coincides with desktop automatic windows update. Perhaps a poor assumption, but it does seem like clockwork so to speak.

I’ll respond to certificate question…

Thank you!

No, I did not assign an ‘ISC’ to PMS.

Be happy to if you could head me in that direction.

Thx!

Sounds more like the server might have an issue with a changing IP address (either the ISP assigning your router a new WAN IP or the IP assigned to your server from your router). Plex usually recognizes new WAN IP addresses and communicates it to your client apps.

Have you verified your server is using a static ip address inside your home network (IP reservation)?

Yes! Great question. My plex buddy (spidersnet) has been handling thru team viewer. He switched around what you’ve mentioned - said that AT&T has recently creating havoc re security(?). He switched me from 32400 to 55559 or other. This worked a few days but I had to beg him to revert to 32400. Again, this holds for 30 days…

I’m sorry for my ignorance; I try to watch his moves but it’s a little Greek to me. He and I are great friends of 20 years, he’s VERY versed in all things ‘under the hood’ and has he’s kind of thrown in the towel.

Should I delete Plex from desktop, reinstall and reload library? Or will this persist?

Thx

That shouldn’t have any impact on your situation.

I’m happy to venmo, etc. any takers to solve this. My entire library is FLAC and I’m cuffed.

Update: problem somehow solved…

ATT firewall issue. From ping page - Port 32400 kept showing CLOSED in red. Finally went green OPEN with tech’s tweaking. He said he’s always fought ATT. Could be operator error on his part. Stumped him for 20 minutes.

All systems go. Until next month when it jumps back offline.

Thanks so much BRW. Above members suggestions helped him.
