The XML shows it didn’t actually match. It pulled the video information from the file but got no further.

If you see this: guid="local://2758" (guid="local:xxxxx) it means no agent matched it.

What is the stacking priority of your agents?
Do you have “Local Media Assets” at the top?
If so, put it at the bottom . It belongs there. It works best there to catch the extras and subtitles. That’s all it should be doing.

Yes i see this and noticed it in different forums.
Even if i try to match it manually it does not work.

Local media assets are at the bottom for all agents but this did not help in any way.
Is there anything else i can do?

I also just noticed the path is too deep.

/volume2/Movies2/Filme/!Mehrteilige Filme/Olympus Has Fallen/Angel Has Fallen (2019)/Angel Has Fallen (2019).mkv

If the top of your Movies library is /volume2/Movies2/Filme
then:

/volume2/Movies2/Filme/Angel Has Fallen (2019)/Angel Has Fallen (2019).mkv`

You are confusing it by forcing a “collections” structure.

Hi,

so theoretically this should be a collection.
There are a total of 3 movies… in this case this is the Olympus has fallen collection and in the subfolder two other movies will come in the futer. so there will be angel has fallen, london has fallen and olympus has fallen.

But I do have this problem not only for this movie.
I have it also for all other new movies I add. I just got the terminator movies and they dont get a poster or any metadata as well

My folder structure ist like this because I have a network share on my synology. This is the Movies2.
I access this folder in windows and separated the movies to 4K, Normal FullHD/HD and movies with more then one part (like terminator, harry potter etc,)

Could this be a problem?
And what would be a proper way to sort the movies?

BR

Yes, the structure does not need be complex. Plex will create the collections for you.
You only need have the movies in your library and Plex will group them into their collections.

I have the following shares:

  • movies
  • movies2
  • animated
  • uhd
  • seasonal

The structure is:

movies/
  animated /
How to Train Your Dragon (2010)/
How to Train Your Dragon (2010).mkv
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)/
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014).mkv
    .
    .
    .

This is easy for me to maintain.
PMS finds all the metadata easily.
PMS creates the collections automatically.

But if I pic another movie for example: Gemini Man

the file is located on my second HDD in the network share Movies2/!4K/Gemini Man/… .mkv but it is not getting any metadata

Any Ideas?

Try using an alternate agent… that sort-of worked for me facing the same issues. Like, manually search using another agent.

Has any portion of this Synology server installation come from Windows?

No, everything was freshly installed on the NAS.

Some of the movies were downloaded and has run on a windows plex installation before… but just very few.

Thank you. That explains a great deal.

Windows uses CR/LF as the End-of-Line marker.
Linux uses LF only.

When installations are ported from Windows -> Linux, problems can occur.

It’s easy to correct.

  1. Stop Plex
  2. Open File Station
  3. Navigate into the Plex share
  4. Further down: Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Data
  5. Delete everything you see there.
  6. Start Plex
  7. Refresh All Metadata for each library section.
