Plex SOS Troubleshoot: Posters, Move Data, Cast Members Not Downloading - Refresh Metadata DS718

Hi all, I am having an issue. I never ran into this problem before so I am at a lost.

My movie posters, cast members, and banners, for recently added files are not downloading.

See here.

I tried moving my agents as suggested in other forums with no success. See below, maybe I did something wrong?

See my agents below.

Any advice?

Just to clarify all movie files are named correctly. IE: MOVIE (YEAR).ext

For some reason, “Refresh Metadata” is currently dulled out.

Tried a few more things and still not working… any recommendations will be super helpful.

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 2 minutes
  6. either refresh one movie or add one movie into your library
  7. wait 3 minutes
  8. fetch log files and attach them here

Could it have something to do with the Sub Zero plugin?

I only noticed the issue after getting it.

The easiest way to find out is to disable it then, under
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
and to perform the Plex Dance with one of the affected movies.

Please update to the latest Plex Server version.
The issue you have might be already fixed.

I did all of this and it is still not working sadly.

Any advice?

Here is the Debug log you requested.

Plex Dance did not work.

You are still on an outdated Plex server version. Please update to the latest. There is no sense in trying to debug issues which have already been fixed in a newer version.

Sorry, I thought I updated through the Media Center.

Doing it now and will update you.

I had a handful of issues updating, but finally good to go.

Circling back to this topic. I performed the Plex Dance, and it did not help. Here is a debug file.

Issue: Plex is not pulling in metadata. When I “fix match” a movie it still does not pull in the proper data.

Here is just an example of a file causing headache.

File added and did not match, although the name of the file seems to be pretty accurate to the movie title.

When I do a “Match” the title appears and I selected it.

The tags refresh, and SOME metadata comes through but not all IE: posters, banners, backgrounds, cast members.

This is a pretty general occurrence for a lot of the recent movies I have been adding.

I would try a slight rename of the file. I used to have a few title that just would no match correctly no matter what. Since I started adding the IMDB ID to the name, I have had 100% accuracy. Try the following file name:

Pokémon 3 The Movie - Spell of the Unown (2000) (tt0235679).mkv

These movies might not be classified as ‘cinema’ movies. The Plex Movie agent won’t match those.
If you do ‘Match’ manually, you will get search results from all agents, not just Plex Movie.
The search hit in the screen shot above may have come from the TheMovieDatabase agent.

btw. one could make an argument that these movies belong to the tv series Pokémon and are better suited in its Specials season:

Just to clarify, this is not just happening with a Pokemon movie. It is happening with a majority of the recently added.

Here is another example.

And another example.

Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ - “IPv6 support” <-- DISABLE
Restart plex server
Then try again to ‘Refresh Metadata’ of one affected movie.
Then fetch server log files again…

I tried what you suggested with no successful unfortunately.

Here you go.
