No remote acces on the NVIDIA SHIELD

Hi guys,

My Plex server is running on a first generation NVIDIA SHIELD. I’ve an issue with remote acces. Yesterday I could acces the server remote but today not. Some extra background information, the media is on a Synology server. I used SMB for connection. Plex and the Shield is up to date.

The things I tried:

  • Restart Plex
  • Restart Shield
  • Checking port (32400) in the router (this was okay)

Plex is also running on the Synology server. This Plex server doesn’t have an issue remote acces.

Does someone has tips&tricks to check?

so you have 2 different port forwards setup? and 2 different ports?

No I have the same ports, both on 32400, is that the problem?

Yeah… You need to use a different port like 32401 or something.

I tried your solution.

  1. Change the port to 32410
  2. Add the IP adres from the Shield in the router with port 32410 forwarded

Still no remote acces :(.

can you go to canyouseeme.org and test that port and while you are there test the other port for your other server and see what you get.

I am having the same issue and canyouseeme.org worked fine on port 32401. Was this ever resolved?

I just fixed it by going into settings on the Shield / apps / plex / clearing the cache.
