Ran Plex on my Shield. Set up server and added libraries, no problem. Now when I sign in, it links okay but then I get the No Server Found with three options: Retry, sign out and Continue. I have the current version. Plex server is offline and I get an error saying unable to connect of plex media servers. When launching from the site usning my mac, I get no server found. VPN has been disabled on the Mac and the Shield. I have logged out and logged in as the trouble shooter suggests but still have the same problem. Is there a way to manually start the wizard and create a new server?
Oh well. Thought this sounded too good to be true. My dad just died and I thought this would be a great way for the family to share photos. It set up so easy too. Damn, is there any way to get my money back? I should have known better…sucker born every minute. Man, I wanted this to work. Well at least my friends and family won’t make this mistake. I’ll make sure of that.
Grinding on this all day! Never did figure out why but did manage to get the server back and running after resetting the shield to factory settings. There’s no way to cancel one server and start a new one on the shield. Only the reset. Could it have been the VPN that screwed the pooch? Maybe the shield doesn’t like my HDMI switch. I’d be just guessing but I think this issue is not over yet. I hope either plex or the shield becomes more stable. There seems to be a lot of people with the same issue for many different reasons. You guys were GREAT. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. What have I gotten myself into?
