Plex Media Server unavailable on Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: 1.28.0.5999
Player Version#:9.6.0.34226

had to do a factory reset of my Nvidia Shield, and now the PMS is unavailable despite uninstalling/reinstalling. A reddit forum pointed me to here to ask for my server certificate to be reset. please help.

thank you

If no one responds, there is a thread for new certificates you can search for and post in. Sometimes people that can view and reset your certificate don’t catch every new thread.

What happens when you visit http://127.0.0.1:32400/web from the Shield?

thank you. doing so now…

same thing as logging into the Shield. I am told it is unable to connect to Plex Server

Means the server isnt running

Does that mean it’s a certificate issue? When I go into the Plex app settings, the server status is running.

If http://127.0.0.1:32400/web isnt loading then its not a certificate issue.

Hoping someone can help me. As of 1-2 days ago my media stopped showing. today i have been troubleshooting and it looks like plex server isn’t even showing on the shield. When i go under settings, under plex server it doesn’t show anything indicating whether it is running or not. I don’t see a version for it. I can’t open any browsers. I also just upgraded to the most current version of the shield hoping that would resolve the issue, but it has not. I already checked permissions, remounted my NAS and all that looks fine on the shield.

Definitely not an expert here, but have you tried going into the play store and seeing if you have the current version of Plex Media Server installed? You may need to update or uninstall/reinstall, then set the server back up

I tried, but anytime I tried going to Plex it would just open the app. I did a factory reset of the shield and set it back up and works now. Just annoying that it for some reason magically got rid of Plex server. And I couldn’t get it back even after uninstall and reinstall on the shield.

My last suggestion is uninstall Plex app and reinstall, if you haven’t tried that.

sorry have not been able to figure out what it causing this. Looks like a uninstall/reinstall does not always work either.
