"No signal" playing certain content on Xbox One X client only

Content involved I have ripped personally and have tried different outputs to no avail. Plays back fine on computers and mobile, just not on Xbox One X. Disabling the “Allow Display Mode Switching” successfully works around problem. Seems similar to problems discussed in Plex on Xbox One X loses video signal and "Unsupported signal" on xbox one s
