I hope you bought your Netgear Nighthawk from Costco so it’s easy to return once you get tired of it.
I went through three of them before switching to ASUS. The last two Nighthawks had serious issues and even reset to factory defaults on a few occasions. I’m sure you can see the major security concern with that.
Default access with full access to the network… like my NAS and Wyze cams… ouch!
Either way, hopefully you don’t have the same issues…
I noticed that when I connect to my NAS using the IP address I have access to the PLEX server/NAS content. If I connect using the devicename of my NAS I get the “No Soup for you!” error. The problem might also occur (not tested, just assumed) if you change the IP address of your NAS. I hope this helps somebody.
You do not have access to this server No Soup for you. For days now . Plex on My Cloud Home but no access for a week.
Is there no way to attach to my server , I do not want to lose any of my media.
Plex want to keep selling new services but cannot even get the basic music server stable. What hope do they have , they could have been ahead of spotify but they decided not to commit even basic resources to providing a stable server connection from local hosts, the reason most people went plex in the first place.
You want to open a new thread for that unless you’re OP with another username. It helps to keep things tidy and not have a ton of issues in one single thread, even if they are similar.
Thanks
True, I always use IP Addresses when connecting to my devices.
Anything I need to access remotely is setup using a Static IP Address using my Router. This way, each time my NAS is powered on, the Router will give it the same IP address.
Thank you, I was able to resolve the issue about a month after my last posting. I had an issue with a locked update if I recall correctly. After numerous attempts I was able to update a non-Plex associated application and then Plex was able to be updated properly.
Thanks for the additional link, I’ll take a look at that one as well.
