No soup for you

Server Version#:Current
Player Version#:

New install of server on a New Qnap Nas. Everything installed just fine, saw media being loaded, created categories, etc. But now after getting out of the server and logging back in later all I can see is web show, news and podcasts if I click on the server name I get “NO soup for you” you do not have access to this server. How did I screw up? and how do I fix it.

I guess I need to add, i just found out I can use the web client and access everything and as the admin I can add categories and folders. But i still cannot do it via the NAS.

Does it really say no soup for your? Funny.

What computer are you using to administer the NAS? I have a Mac on which I use Safari.

It sounds like you’re trying to use two ways to administer the QNAP, but only one of them is working. Probably the desktop method I mentioned above is working. Is the broken method using the Hybrid DeskStation Plex Home Theater App connected via HDMI to a Smart TV?

In general the website articles on installation are very good but don’t address QNAP HDMI.

The broken method is directly from the log-in from the disk station’s admin page also accessed from the Mac using QfinderPro. Both ways are using the Mac’s desktop to administer Plex. Directly from a Plex Media Player on my Mac-it works. From the disk station icon, it doesn’t. I am going to give new permissions to let everyone administer from the disk station and reboot the Nas… as soon as it finished transferring 4TB of media from my Mac. 3 day is the estimate.

You may be running an old version of Plex Media Server.
Would you use Plex Media Player to check your Settings - General (lower one)

Mine looks like this:

Tell us what PMS version you’re running.

Also tell us the LAN IP address of the QNAP and whether it get’s that address assigned by you Static or from DHCP. Tell us if you have any VPN, Antivirus, anti-malware, or other security software running on the Mac or QNAP. Does the QNAP have more than one NIC active? If so describe everything about your LAN.

Screenshot your Settings - Show Advanced - Network. You can redact your email and login if you like from anything, along with any public IP address. Don’t need that.

Thanks.

Well, after changing permissions in the Qnap and checking everything on the Plex server ( Ipv6 was somehow turned on). I didn’t do it but it must be on automatically on a new install.

Everything now works as it is suppose to. So, I’m fixed. YEA.

I am having this issue still. I deleted my old account and wanted to start a new one and now I am getting this error. I am still not sure why I can not access my NAS server through PLEX. I am using the PLEX NAS APP, so why wouldnt it give me access?
