This is driving me nuts. I have Plex running from a raspberry pi 2 which has open media vault on it. I then have an Xbox one x with t the Plex app on it. That Xbox is plugged into a Denon 2500 amp and that is plugged into a Panasonic smart tv using the ARC option.
All simple enough but no matter what I try (and I have been through everything I can find) I cannot get 5.1 playing. I know the films are 5.1 yet all it shows is English aac stereo on the info when I start the film and when I go into the settings the only option I get is what you see in the pic. Please help as it’s driving me nuts.
If my source only has 5.1 for an option I get no sound right now. Files with stereo are playing on my Xbox one x. I also have my One X plugged into a receiver for surround sound. Using windows 10 for the plex server.
Same here, for what it’s worth. Approx. since big updates (UNO) a couple months ago.
Related to Xbox One app problems: Do you happen to have “Top Unwatched Movies” hub in Movies section? I find it very useful, but nonexistent on Xbox (it’s available on other apps, like Plex MP for PC, Plex for PC, Plex for Web). I guess I’m wondering if we need to totally reset, delete our Xbox One app settings or something (fun)…
I have just joined the Plex community as a long time Media Centre (MC) user and looking for something that will do what MC could via the xbox.
I have a collection of mp4’s which have in the first audio track the aac stereo track and then the 5.1 track in the second.
This makes the files compatible with many devices.
However, as others here have stated, when i am playing through the xbox one, I am unable to select the required audio track and am stuck with the aac stereo track.
As much as I am seeing potential for Plex this is a real bummer… you could say a deal breaker.
Please have the option to select the audio tracks available. In this day and age it defies logic not to have this ability to select.
I also have another issue relating to overscan but will bring this up in another post.
