No TV show collections showing

Hey there guys,

as the title suggests I have switched on collections for TV shows and movies. Movies are working like a charme and I was stunned how easy it was to even change the minimum movie requirements (e.g. from 3 to 2) with a simple metadata refresh.

However, the same thing didn’t work as charming for the TV shows. I have enabled the option to “hide” items and did a full refresh of metadata. Nontheless there’s not a single collection within the library. I was assuming it would, for instance, put the Marvel tv shows or let’s say “9-1-1” and “9-1-1 Lone Star” together in a collection, but nothing similar happened. Am I overseeing something?

Any hint would be greatly appreciated. Just discovering collections after 6 years of heavy plexin and I’m convinced from the movies

Cheers!

Plex does not automatically create collections for tv-shows.
If you want to associate different shows from the same “universe”, you can assign each of them with the same collection (on the show level: ... > Edit > Tags > Collections).

If you assign the same name you’ve used in a movie collection, they will show as “related collections” (e.g. if you have a bunch of Star Wars movies in a Star Wars collection and have now added some of their animated shows or the Mandalorian).

Hey there tom80H,

thank you very much for that, that was the answer. I was assuming it’s doing the collections automatically for TV shows as well as for movies. Question answered, problem solved, thanks
