No write access - Nvidia shield

Hello,

I have had this problem for about a month after previous success in my first month of usage with my setup. Not sure what has gone wrong but I can’t seem to resolve it. It very rarely works for about one recording but seems to stop working, and never works with series links.

I am using the first edition Nvidia shield with Hauppage WinTV dual HD and Synology NAS.

Things I have tried:

  • Remounting SMB share
  • Changing Nas folder and record destination in plex
  • changing Nas user
  • changing Nas permissions
  • Removing library from Plex
  • Reinstalling Plex
  • adding Sd card to Nvidia shield, setting this as recording directory
  • searched online for possible solutions, seems a common error but typically resolved by setting Linux permissions which I don’t think is the issue as I have r/w on Synology for user
  • probably some other things I have forgotten

Can anyone suggest some more things to try before I give up and cancel my Plex pass subscription?

I have a shield and dealt with this as well, but to be clear, it’s an android/nvidia issue, not plex’s fault. In fact, Nvidia announced that the new androidtv oreo update and the paired shield update will address attached storage issues… unfortunately that’s been stalled due to bugs found in the oreo release.

I’ve previously been able to get it to work on my NAS using the same info in the link that @“MovieFan.Plex” referenced above. Have you worked through those details?
