Non-English subtitles are unreadable becasue of extra spaces

When I stream content with Russian subtitles from Plex to my Chromecast, the subtitles have extra spaces after every single letter, which makes it very hard to read.

  • the second photo shows that English subtitles display correctly.

The subtitles are shown perfectly well on any other Plex players I use (PS4, Android TV, Mac, iPad).
