Non-Letter Characters being more specific // mod: don't group special characters in library index

Hi…

I’m a long term user of Plex, but I have one bugbear with the indexing. I, like a lot of users, have different categories of collections within my movies…in my case I have Genre then Series then a few collections which are specific actors/actresses. I’ve forced them to sort in that order by adding a non-letter character at the start of the collection name.(# for Genre, + for Series and > for Actor). I’d like it if there were a way that, rather than just grouping all non-letter characters together, Plex actually separated and displayed the initial character of each collection, so that (in my case) Series and Actor characters were selectable in the index rather than having to go from the top and wade through all the Genres to get there…

Collections have a Sort Title - like everything else.
As you might imagine - it can come in handy at times:

I use a 4 digit number and when I put one next to another one in the library I skip 10 - making it easier to add one in between, but you can also use decimal point fiddles…

The Collection shown in edit is a Smart Collection that I place on the Home Screen with it’s own display settings - consists of 40 randomly selected Movies after 2018 - and yes, Smart Collections have a Sort Title as well.

I use different Sort Titles to do different things, like lay Star Wars Movies side by side where a release year won’t work (e1-e3 out of sequence):

… and a year when it will work - like Star Trek Movies:

Star Trek puts 'em all in a bunch on the page at “Star T” - the year sets the sequence.

I have to believe almost anything you want to do with sorting - you can already do with Sort Title.
