None of my Devices will connect to my Media sever after sever update

No change here, still shows server unavailable and settings never save after changing to insecure connections / another language, just reverts back to never/english. Sign-in still does nothing

Same here. Updated Server. No visible update for the app on tv. Still server unreachable regardless of settings I make.

It’s hard to understand. This issue affects a lot of users, included the ones that pay for the service.
No answer from Plex …

Any update on this??

Yes, it is incomprehensible. Irresponsibility?

Have the same issue on my brothers lg tv. I have the PMS at my place and he connects to my PMS on lg plex app, and since i updated server, now he cant connect. hes lg tv is 5 years old. No solutions works or anything. We live 100 meters away and my server is setup correct, since i can take my phone and login ect…

fix it asap please.

I doubt we will get a reply from the devs at this point. As near as I can tell the tv app seems to have been bricked after the .86 update (at least for me). The app makes no connection to the server in any way that I can find or any connection to anything at all. I think at this point, the only solution we are going to get is an accidental fix in a future patch. So let’s keep those fingers crossed and hope for the best.

It remains for me to be satisfied that I have not paid for this service.

The problem is with the access to the URL plex.tv from the old LG, it does not matter if it is netcast or webos, since I have installed the version of PMS 1.23.1.4602-280ab6053 and I have not updated for a long time and it also happens to me.

I’ve been looking for a solution to the problem that users using the service might do, but I haven’t found any yet. However, I have stumbled upon this temporary solution that could be applied on the plex.tv server to temporarily allow us access.

Owners of smart TVs who have not updated Smart TV software for many years may face this problem. For example, the new GlobalSign root R5 root released in 2012, and after some old Smart TVs cannot build a chain to it, because they simply do not have this root CA. In particular, these clients could not establish a secure connection to bbc.co.uk. To solve the problem, the BBC admins had to trick: they built an alternative chain for these clients through additional intermediate certificates, using old roots R3 root and R1 rootthat are not rotten yet.

www.bbc.co.uk (Leaf) GlobalSign ECC OV SSL CA 2018 (Intermediate) GlobalSign Root CA - R5 (Intermediate) GlobalSign Root CA - R3 (Intermediate)

This is a temporary solution. The problem will not go anywhere if you do not update the client software. A smart TV is essentially a Linux-based computer with limited functionality. And without updates, its root certificates will inevitably become rotten.

In case any developer looks at it, let’s see if they can apply something similar. https://www.google.com/amp/s/prog.world/the-problem-of-obsolete-root-certificates-next-up-let-s-encrypt-and-smart-tvs/

All working now for me on LG42UB820, Plex staff on another thread confirmed a fix

thank you very much for the info, it works for me now.

Confirmed. Thank you very much.

Yes, works for me as well. The tv app needed to be signed in and reconnected to the server but everything seems to work perfectly again. Thank you.
