Did the recent Plex Medie sever update and now none of my devices will connect to the media sever. Checked all my settings made sure there were no issuse in Windows 10 or the firewall. Thinking about to a reinstall but trying to find a solution before I go that far.
Same problem here.
I’ve two LG TV and both stop working. I’ve found an workaround but I must repeat it every time I start plex.
At start is always like this.
Then I go to settings and have to change:
Language
Insecure connections
and server manualy.
when leaving settings I’ve Plex working. But next time I must do everything again.
Someone else?
Hi, the same thing happens to me since yesterday, but that trick of yours does not work for me, I had already tried it other times, but it does not work.
Yesterday afternoon I got the typical known error of “Budapest”, and today when trying to start I get this as ati.
I have tried putting the external IP as Internal and neither works.
When I enter the manual configuration of the server, and I close that dialog, I go back to the initial screen, and press Retry or Home and everything is reset as it was at the beginning, it seems like it does not save the information or something.
Did you made all changes, including language?
Yes, I have tried Portuguese and Spanish and it doesn’t work for me
Since yesterday I had the same problem on my LG TV but not on my Samsung TV. Tried everything as manual IP, allow insecure connections, install the app again, but nothing works.
Same here. Ran the server update before heading to bed last night and today my tv (LG) won’t connect to the PMS. I get the “Plex is not reachable” message and so far nothing has worked to let me reconnect the tv to the server. Worked fine yesterday. It does seem like the app on the tv is signed out for some reason. Doesn’t let me sign back in either. the sign-in button does nothing, same with manual IP and insecure connections, etc. keeps resetting after I fill it in and hit the retry button. At this point, I’m hoping it’s a glitch in the update and it will be fixed soon.
I do not think it is a PMS update problem since I have installed version 1.23.1.4602-280ab6053 from approximately the month of May, since I updated to a later version on my LG TV the resume functions did not work neither to rewind nor to advance, for that reason I stayed in this version. LG’s version of Plex has not been updated either. So I don’t know what it could be, maybe a bug in the PLEX servers or that they have covered it up for some reason.
crashsquad Exactly the same issue as I have. Have you tried the workaround?
I am having the same issue too. The sign in button does nothing, and every time I put anything in settings, it reset after clicking retry, so it is useless. I even reset my tv, and re-installed plex, and it does no good.
However I can still access plex in a web browser. It is only my tv not working
Same issue here. (Plex is not reachable, the Plex for LG app keeps losing setttings, can’t log in, etc.) It was fine yesterday.
Paid service btw…
Quick summary and update:
I updated the PMS to Version 1.25.1.5286 Tuesday evening and went to bed. The next day (Wednesday) everything broke. The “Allow fallback” Workaround does not work.
Everything I input is not stored (tv app).
Today (Thursday) I tried using the Tv’s web browser to check if the tv was having connection issues. Surfing the internet works well enough with 1 exception. Any attempt to reach Plex.tv or any plex-related page rewards me with “Page doesnt exist” message. Addresses work fine on pc tho when trying to access the setting online I get the message my server is not available. (I have remote access enabled etc. if that makes any difference.)
The only access I have to the plex server is through local address. I can add/remove/stream files on the pc but not to any device other than the pc itself. It seems all external devices are blocked for me.
Does anyone have any advice on where to look next? I’m completely at a loss for direction atm. Everything seems to point to the PMS but I have no idea where to look next.
I may have found why plex doesn’t work anymore on both of LG TV.
I think that some certificates on TV has become outdated and that’s the reason, or Plex server as updated their certificates to a new version.
Several HTTPS sites don’t work anymore on TV browser. Some still do.
https://plex.tv is one of them. This one shows clearly that is a cerificate error.
Https://sapo.pt is another one

I really hope that plex can find a workaround for this. Meanwhile I’ll open a ticket for LG also.
The same issue for my LG tv for 4 days now. I tried the manual IP, language and always allow insecure connections, but the problem remains. I also removed the cables from the tv, turned on and off…, but none of that has helped.
Does anyone know why this problem occurs? Does it only happen with LG TVs?
I imagine that the connections to the plex server, that is, plex.tv, have been blocked because possibly the certificate or the client request used by these LG TVs are not secure or are expired.
We all have the same problem, it is clear that the problem is with the plex website.
same problem here! I have an LG 47LA6900
Same problem here also, 2 x LG 42UB820V
I have this too. any responses from Plex staff or solutions?
Go into the Network tab on the server in settings, and change it to always on the server. Well either always or preferred.
The above solution works for me, but it isn’t really good enough. I can get my own server, but no one elses.
What plex forgets is that we don’t all upgrade our tvs for the sake of it. Sometimes they have to last a few years.
Did the lastest update for Plex sever and the update on my smart TVs and low and behold evrything seems to be back up and running without remote access for now. Anyone else see better results since updating?
