NOT a fan of the grouping

Just some feedback for the powers that be, I’m NOT a fan of the grouping that was added in the last updated. I now have many instances of an apparent grouping of collection of movies including ones that make no sense at all. Example would be Super Troopers which is now listed twice, first as Super Troopers with “1 movie” below it and the next to it Super Troopers with 2001 below it. What in the world is the point?? Meanwhile movies such Star Trek, Star Wars and other blockbuster franchises where a grouping would make sense aren’t grouped. I’m assuming that it’s having something to do with matching a database that includes movie packs where on the package you buy includes multiple movie titles but I’d rather see them in my library as individual movies. Sorry to sound like I’m complaining but I’m not a fan and am trying to provide feedback.

This behavior is user configurable at the library level.
Also, this happened when Plex made automatic collections…
Just delete those collections…

Edit the options for your libraries and change the tab for ‘Collections’ to disabled and it will stop grouping items. I hate the grouping too and had to go through and delete all of them one by one.

I’m not sure when but there was a bug in one of the earlier versions of PMS that created a collection for each movie with just that movie in it.

I’m not surprised, nobody ever accused Plex of actually testing updates properly before releasing them full of problems. The last server update I installed screwed up my installation so badly it took me 3 days to finally fix it. From this point on I’m not installing any new server updates unless the version I’m using is so old it no longer functions.

lol… Yep. I’m still on 1.9.2. And I’ll stay at that version till PLEX forces my hand or there is some super duper awesome feature I want from a update.

How did you delete the collection? I’m not seeing any delete option.

My problem with it is that if the movie that triggered the Collection is deleted, the Collection remains in the Library with 0 Movies in it.

You need to enable “allow media deletion” which should be enabled by default…
