So ive been trying to get the kill_stream.py to work so that i can kill streams that transcodes videos from 1080p to 720 / 480 / SD.
The majority of all my videos are in 1080 and i want people to use the original resolution of the video file (so if its 1080p video, i want them to play it at 1080, and if the original video is at 720p i want them to play at 720p).
These are the current settings that im using via Tautulli (the windows .exe version):https://imgur.com/a/06sJ9s6
The code im using are:
Kill transcode by original resolution
Playback Start
*Playback Pause
Playback Resume
Transcode Decision Change
Conditions:
[ Transcode Decision | is | transcode ]
[ Video Resolution | is | 1080 or 720 ]
Arguments:
–jbop stream --username {username} --sessionId {session_id} --killMessage ‘Transcoding streams are not allowed for {stream_video_resolution}p streams.’
The problem im having is that when i try to play a 1080p movie in 720p/ 480p, im not getting kicked at all. i do see a small “dos” popup for half of a second (and closes after that), but nothing happens with the stream at all.
Can you please provide your Tautulli logs? Please follow Tautulli’s Asking for Support instructions. My repo’s readme shows ways to contact me. Discord usually has faster response time but we can keep it here if you’d like.
If I had to guess you haven’t added the arguments to each enabled trigger. But logs would definitely show what is happening.
@Blacktwin regarding the logs, i have sent them via PM to you.
Note that the one from screenshot is the one that i tried when the triggers were active. The rest below it on the entire log file that i sent to you is from other users (when the script triggers wasnt active)
Python version installed in windows 10: Python 3.9.0 (tags/v3.9.0:9cf6752, Oct 5 2020, 15:34:40) [MSC v.1927 64 bit (AMD64)] on win32
Tautulli: v2.6.1 (windows version .exe file). Tautulli seems to be running on the following python version: 3.8.6 (tags/v3.8.6:db45529, Sep 23 2020, 15:52:53) [MSC v.1927 64 bit (AMD64)]
I’d prefer not to use some random upload/download service to download a file, which is why I asked you to use a gist. The issue doesn’t seem to be related to the script itself but maybe your environment. I’ve shared your logs with the Tautulli support team.
Subprocess returned with status code 9009.
This is underlying issue. See here for reference. Either your PATH for python is not set correctly or you don’t have Python installed.
