Issues with Kill Streams

I’m scratching my head on this one.

I have two related issues:

  1. I’m using Kill Streams with Tautulli and Plex on an Asustor NAS. I believe everything is set up correctly because I can play anything using Plex and Tautulli can see and analyse everything in real time. Kill Steams was working as expected on Plex Web but it would only kill movie files and ignore all audio files (MP3) on Android and iPhone. I assumed the issue could be the arguments I was using, copied directly from a Kill Streams example on how to kill non-local streams (see screenshots 1a and 1b).

So I changed my “killMessage” to read “{server_name} only allows local streams. WAN: {wan_streams}, email: {user_email}, IP: {IP_address}” but with single quotes instead of double quotes. I set Plex to pass the additional arguments (See screenshots 2). The idea was to see the actual arguments before changing my parameters. I never got to that stage. Instead, Kill Streams stopped working completely regardless of whether I used Plex Web or the Plex android/iPhone apps. So I reverted to the set up that was kind of working. But this didn’t work this time either! This led to my second issue.

  2. I can’t figure out why Kill Streams stopped having any signs of life. I only changed the arguments but changed them back to what was working flawlessly on Plex Web (but not on iPhone and Android clients). Now nothing works!

I tried the following but with no luck:

  1. Restarted Tautulli

  2. Restarted the NAS which, of course, restarted everything

  3. Deleted the Kill Streams folder and re-installed Kill Streams

I don’t know how to read the Tautulli logs, attached.

I have posted this in Plex and Tautulli forums. I’m monitoring both threads. So no need to respond in both forums. On Plex, I couldn’t post more than one screenshot.
