Not able to save manually matched channels in channel guide

This problem is not specific to:

  • this version Plex server for Windows installation
  • this physical Plex server for Windows version
  • any particular HDHR devices
  • using the internal Plex channel database or zap2xml listings from tvlistings.zap2it.com

This can happen if you attempt to assign the same guide data for multiple channels. So, if you already have (using your example) 204 ESPN (ESPN) assigned to a different channel in the guide in addition to 204 ESPN, it will not allow you to save it. There could be other causes as well, but this is one I’m aware of from experience.
