Not adding new movies/series to plex with new versions

Dear Plex Community,

I am using Plex for a few years and I always recommeded to my friends.

Since April/May last year, my Plex is not adding new movies and series anymore after I updated my Plex Server. Once a Month I tried to install a new version but everytime I encounter thesame problem.

At the moment I am stil running on release 1.15.2.793 and everything works perfect.
However, no new series and movies are added when I install a newer version.

Yesterday I tried first the latest version (1.16.5.1554) and the latest update via the synology update manager (1.16.5.1552).

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem ?

Your database might be corrupt. May we have your logs.

Need the log files to be certain (DEBUG on, VERBOSE off); restart PMS, scan files, Download Logs, Attach ZIP file here.

I have the same problem. What can I do when my database is corrupt? This happens every once in a while after roughly 24-48 h of server runtime on a Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Please supply DEBUG logs

  1. Verify DEBUG on, VERBOSE off
  2. Restart the server
  3. Allow to sit idle one minute
  4. Attempt to scan the media
  5. Wait until it completes.
  6. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs

Attach the ZIP file it gives you.

From your logs, I’m not seeing any corruption.
I am, however, seeing a lot of old issues which were corrected in subsequent releases of PMS. 1.15.2 has undergone many corrections.

I recommend you consider updating to current Public release version.

I implemented several changes with 1.15.4.994 on Synology and would like to make certain you are aware and can make these minor changes to your Synology before upgrading.

Thanks for your fast reply.
Yesterday, I upgraded to the last version and changed the permissions.
Only for the photo folder, this was not possible since these should be changed via Photo Station.

After these modifications, I’ve been trying to add a new movie and serie to my library but without succes. But even more strange, it removed all my photos when refreshed these library.

As a result, I decided to remove all libraries and start over with a clean sheet.
This worked for the movies and series :slight_smile:
I haven’t tried to add photo library yet but at the moment, I also prefer to use the DS Photo app above the one of Plex (faster response).
