So i just set up my over the air connection to plex, antenna is conected to HDhomerun. Using the HDhomerun app i get 100+, Even disney and cartoon network! However, when i setup the live tv on plex it only scaned 45 channels and not all of them come in. I have googled and googled i cannot find a solution. please help! Thank you
Those are not channels that are broadcast “over the air” so they’re not coming in through your antenna.
You are most likely seeing the (free) demo versions of Silicon Dust’s “Premium TV” service which streams certain cable channels through (some of) their tuners.
Getting 45 channels via antenna (over the air) is a little on the low side but isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.
Unless you want to pay Silicon Dust for those extra channels, I would either disable them in the HDHomeRun config page or just ignore them and go with your Plex guide built from “source: antenna” and your zip code.
Thanks!! I never put any information in HDhomerun off amazon and downloaded the app and there they are. Those channels aside i am still missing a lot of ones that are for sure OTA: FOX, CBS those are the two that stick out. There are others that i should have in my area, and i can see on the HDhomerun app, but dont show up on the plex channel scan
I don’t what you’re trying to say here, sorry.
Correct. You are seeing the demo versions of streaming channels offered by Silicon Dust, the company that makes HDHomeRun tuners. You can view those channels for about 2 minutes before they timeout.
Try using a different but nearby zip code.
