Some TV Shows are not presented by season, just a single list of episodes. The shows are created via Plex via Live TV & DVR (HDHomerun). I did not see an existing topic I should post this question.
If set to “Hide” it just shows a flat list of episodes. If set to “Library default” it should honor the library-level setting of the same name, but I’ve had it flake out before and not do so.
As shown in the screen capture, Becker has shows for both season 5 and 6. I have many shows that organize by season. There are just a few like Becker that don’t. The file name are using the same structure, so I don’t see what is different for the few.
My setup is the same as you presented. I have many shows that present by season, there is just a few that don’t. Same naming is used so I don’t see why.
I just tested this (leap of faith):
Edit the TV Show Library/Advanced.
If you Select to Hide Seasons, by some miracle, all you get is episodes.
If you select to Hide Single Seasons, again, Call Ripley, but you get episodes, until there are more than one season then you get seasons.
Is there a chance the main library setting is doing leprechaun things to show settings behind the scenes? <—I say as I hope it’s not a big deal changing my library back to
‘Hide Single Seasons’. <— it wasn’t a big deal.
I didn’t notice your screen print was the Edit option at the show level (thought it was the system level setting). The particular show not showing by season are set to hide, it looks like the first time a show is added via recorded TV (HDHomeRun) it defaults to Hide. Thanks for showing me how to fix it.
