TV Shows some show as Seasons some show as episodes - WHy?

I just recently noticed that some Shows show up as episods and some seasons.

They all are setup in the same format.

Mine is done like this -

/TV Shows
   /Doctor Who (1963) {tvdb-76107}
      /Season 01
         S01e01 - An Unearthly Child (1).mp4

I have done the “Plex Dance” on a few folders which it seemed to fix. Others keep coming back showing up as episodes vs Seasons. Anything else I can try?

Not exactly sure what you’re experiencing.
There’s two things coming to mind:

„Recently Added“ hubs

Those hubs will group items added during approx. 1 day’s time (I think it’s actually 20 hours). So if you add a single episode per week this will show the individual episodes. If you add multiple episodes of a season, the hub will show a season entry. Ic the episodes added during the time window reach across multiple seasons, the hub will display a single item representing the entire show.

Library / show configuration

You can configure in your library how you want it to display shows. You can configure it to hide the seasons entirely. IIRC the default is to hide the seasons for single-season shows (though that’ll only reflect the # of shows in your library, not the total number of episodes of a show).

I suppose the latter is the most likely culprit for what you described.

See my post on this, I had the same thing happening and got it fixed, I can only guess during a Server upgrade, a switch was no longer a default and this did fix the issue (if I am understanding what your original post was saying?)

Shoot didn’t even know it existed per TV Show. I thought that setting was only on the main “TV Shows” settings.

We will have to see. I got impatient and already moved all TV Shows, Deleted the TV folder. Did the “Plex Dance” and now created a new folder with “TV Shows” and adding Shows in one by one. Starting with the ones I know that were showing up as Seasons.

But your link may have been the solution to my problem. But why did it only occur on certain ones.

Same here, both my shows (Evil and The Boys) were started at the same time (as being added to my TV Shows folder) but one changed and the other didn’t. I found it only happened on 2 shows (Evil & Legacies) but BOOM that was it. Very weird.
