Not authorized after changing HDD

Server Version Qnap TS-233
Player Version 1.30.0

Had Plex working fine for a few weeks after just getting a new Nas.
Then the HDD that had Plex installed on, crashed.
After adding a new HDD I had to reinstall the apps and most of them worked.
But NOT Plex. I only get “not authorized” when trying to open the app via QTS.
Trying to uninstall it again and re-install does not help. Qnap support can’t help.
Anyone got any idea?
Thnx!

Because of the abrupt failure, Plex.tv is still looking for the original server ID
( PMS creates new server ID numbers each time it’s installed on QTS )

To remedy:

  1. https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms
  2. Find the old QTS server entry
  3. Remove it
  4. Close & Reopen the browser
  5. Now open the QNAP by its LAN IP address

Ok, thnx!
Found the server via https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms and deleted it.
Closed and reopened the browser but all I see is the browsers and apps in “authorized units” . How do I “open the QNAP by its LAN IP address”?
I am currently at work…
Should I reinstall on Qnap?
The problem is I cannot even access the settings on the Qnap server side…

When you’re not on the same LAN as the server, you won’t be able to claim it unless you SSH / SSH-tunnel into the box

Ok, So how do I claim? Will it just appear on the “https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms” ?

the Plex.tv “PMS” page shows you everything already claimed on your account.

Since you have an unclaimed server , no it won’t show up there until after

Do you have SSH / Putty / some kind of remote desktop access to the NAS?

Ok, then I have to check when I get home. What do I have to do to claim the server?

When you get home,

  1. Start PMS in App Center
  2. open the browser to http://ip.addr.of.qnap:32400/web
  3. And away you go

Ok, thnx will try later!

BIG THANK YOU! It works
