Unauthorized PMS unable to be claimed

Server Version#:latest

Hello,

Im having my PMS access revoked with an “Not authorized to Access this Server” and unable to move past this screen. I had this same setup running for more than 2 years and I had never had any issues of this sort.
Apparently, I have an unclaimed PMS due to the QNAP/PMS server being in a home subnet, thru an access point.
I’ve followed this guide and instructions as per an SSH claim as in this thread
But I cant get past the token part, where the claim page is blank only stating Im logged in, showing up nothing on the frame. Since Im out of the PMS I cant check token going to a library item.
As an admin user Im left out of the PMS but if I switch to another kid user all the content magically appears.
Opening PMS thru QNAP PMS or app.plex.tv gives the same issue.

Please advise on how to proceed and fix this issue.

Thank you

If you had PMS installed on the QNAP,
Uninstalled it,
Now install it again,
WITHOUT removing from plex.tv,

Then you’ll be stuck here, unfortunately.

This happens because PMS is looking for the old server to authenicate with and that doesn’t exist.

Presuming networking is the same (gateway and DNS still valid)

SSH into the QNAP and claim it using my claim tool.

I have the instructions in the README.md

You should also visit https://app.plex.tv Authorized Devices → Server
and remove the previous (no longer valid) instance.

Hello there,

Could you kindly elaborate a more detailed step by step process to claim the server? Im trying to follow your instructions for your github reset utility but Im super far from a network wizard and Im stuck mid way on step 4. When using cd /share/Public/ it doesnt open the directory. it doesnt show anything.
Also, I’m not quite understanding the next steps after 6. Invoke is what? run it ?

Also another thing, the link plex.tv/claim is blocked by chrome for “insecurity” reasons. This also happens when opening plex.tv

Thanks a bunch

ok update… after messing around ive managed to move forward on your list. Ive also resolved the claim link not working.
I copied the token on the console, enter and it gives me an error 60 “could not get credentials from plex.tv”.

Also I forgot to mention I had previously cleared all authorized devices from my account settings.

Now Im really stuck. Advise?

@ChuckPa

Is there a domain name involved (the QNAP has a FQDN hostname / DNS attached) ?

Or - Is the QNAP out of time sync with NTP ?

Im sorry. Thats already above my paygrade. I never messed with the DNS on the Qnap.
How do I check that out of sync? On the OS set time is set on automatic.

Its fixed! All good! Had to take the server to another network on my work… it worked. Dunno how.
