I just recreated my whole Plex library from scratch bc I was having problems with my old server. Made a totally new server. It’s been working fine all week. Suddenly I get the above message.
Says you do no have access to this server. Why is this happening.
Because you have created a new plex.tv account. So your web browser is already loggged into the new account, while your server is likely still using your previous account.
Which of course means that the new account is not allowed to access the server.
I followed these directions from another Plex ninja when setting up the new server
“ In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the same machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).
Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
Okay, answer me this, why is my entire library totally accessible again and my server fully usable and recognized? I literally did nothing between our last conversation, I had not started to try to fix it yet.
Did the Plex server “fix” its own ability to be recognized on its own?
Obviously I’m not a computer genius here, so I’m quite confused how it just started working again. I haven’t even turned off my computer in the interim.
