Okay very long story. I’ve had a plex account since 2020. I recently got a new computer and went to set up plex on it only it wouldn’t load my library. Didn’t put too much stock into, figured I’d just keep my old computer and use it as my comp. This past week I haven’t been able to access my library on anything. Not me old computer, my tv, or my phone. When I’d click on my library name it says something like it can’t locate it and it might be deleted.
So I decide to start fresh. I create a new account on my new computer. New email address and everything. I do that only once I sign in it doesn’t take me the set up like it originally did when I first created an account. Usually there would be a set up where it will have you create a library and pick folders. Etc. it brought me directly to a home page that looks nothing like how it looks on my old one (or one that any of my friends have)
Usually my name would be in top left and I’d click that to add a library only my name isn’t there. There is a button labeled “my files” or maybe “my media” (sorry I’m not at my computer now). I click on that and it brings me to a page saying I need to download the plex app. Which I already did.
But I click it anyways. Download it. Hit install. Message says this is already installed. Click that button again. Same thing. Delete plex app. Download app start from fresh. Go back and hit that burro button. Same thing saying I need to download plex app.
Can anyone tell me what’s going on? How do I set up a library like this.
In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the same machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).

Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
