Why is the windows app saying not unauthorized. I followed all the instructions and it did nothing to fix it so I deleted my 3 year old account, erased everything from the pc including keys and now it is doing the exact same thing on the new account. I can use it on the fire stick app but now I can’t change any server settings. Should this really be that complicated or is plex just that bad? I’m thinking plex is just a pile of garbage
Hate to say this but have you considered that this is caused by user error?
User accounts typically dont matter. 99.9% of the time plex works great for whomever is installing it. When issues happen it is typically DNS, networking, failing to follow RFC 1918, making the setup unnecessarily complex, or using Hetzner. Lets start with two things have you tried: You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry ?
If that doesnt work please post a copy of your server logs and we can troubleshoot.
how is it user error if I haven’t even done anything but install. No clue how to generate server logs. the path settings > manage > troubleshoot doesn’t exist anywhere I can find in the web app like it says in the guide so that’s great
Please actually read the article that was linked. The next session down covers Manually Finding Log Files which will tell you how to create the zip of the needed log files.
There appears to be some issues with plex services. client.plex.tx is timing out and one of the many is it down sites reports it as such. Even noticed the forum is having issues with auth right now.
