Server Version#:1.19.1.2630
Player Version#:4.30.1
I just noticed the remote access message. Wondering if this is really an issue. I don’t have any problems accessing the server remotely.
I just ran the server update. When it finished remote access showed green for a minute, then flipped back to the message above.
As stated, no problem accessing the server outside my network. Is this something I need to address?
Thanks,
Brian
I have an xfinity gateway CGM4140COM
The server is a Dell Optiplex 755 running windows 7 Pro
Hi,
I don’t think you need to be too concerned, I had the same issue some time ago, probably because Plex doesn’t really see your port although you can access it. Sometimes it can get really funny if you’re on the go, open Plex on your Web browser (no ad here), which is telling you that it’s not accessible.
Plex Server Version- 1.19.1.2645
Server Platform - MAC OS
I noticed this issue too very resently too , my remote access works just fine . I have given access to my friends outside my network and they can access and play content without issue remotely however in my plex server I still see error message
Not available outside your network
Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network.
this error goes away for a few second at times but comes back after - this can not be right - with our without the error remote connection runs just fine.
I have set mannual port forward and configured the same on my Fortigate FW, i see traffic hitting this rule so iam sure it working and port fowarding is working but why the error message ? Is this a bug ? I reboot the mac server but the result is same - it turns green for a short period and when browse back to setting its flips back. Does anyone out there have a solution to this issue ?
I’ve noticed this error "Not available outside your network. Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network."
My friends are still able to remote access my PMS. I click on the “Retry” button which re-establish it, but it returns to “Not available outside your network” after a couple of minutes. I also rebooted my Mac and PMS, to no avail.
Need some assistance in solving this issue.
There is another thread I posted about this that provided the solution. Is Xfinity your ISP? That was my problem. I updated the hardware and they updated their security and pushed everyone to the xFi phone app. That was it. The Advanced Security setting was the problem. It was blocking access to my server. Once I turned that off remote showed Fully Accessible. Hope that helps.
For the record, I took seattlestuff_comcast.net’s advice and the issue is now resolved. I needed to disable Advanced Security in xFi for my gateway to allow the port forwarding.
I opened xFi on my desktop, navigated to More > My Services > Disable (located just under “Advanced Security”.
I then rebooted Plex and it’s showing that I’m fully accessible outside my network!
