"Not available outside your network" but ping works fine

Hi all,

I’m getting the message “Not available outside your network” on my Plex Server running on a NAS. I have configured everything in my router, and when checking that port-number (32400) at https://canyouseeme.org/ I get a success. So how come the Plex is giving me this message? What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem, please help us!!!

First, Ping means nothing when attempting to diagnose this. Ping uses ICMP messages. Plex uses TCP… Secondly, It’s not the same port number (which matters here)

Being able to see a positive result from canyouseeme.org means the firewall is open but doesn’t guarantee the traffic is going to the right destination ( the IP address and port of the Server)

What does the port forwarding in the modem/router report?
Is there a firewall on the PMS server computer? Does it also allow port 32400 to pass through?

I got the same exact problem since I upgraded to the newest Synology PMS yesterday 4/23/20.

Help!

@damdolce

please read my post. Please supply the requested information

same problem here.

I have tried UPnP and also opening 32400 in both Internal and External port inside the router.

In Win10 Pro firewall settings I only see Incoming rules for Plex. I added port 32400 there.

works sometimes, other times no go.

Don’t always go by what it shows in Plex / Web.

That’s been a seriously problematic indicator for a LONG time.
Engineering knows it too and are equally frustrated.

If it goes green and flips back… It’s probably still open.

Logs are needed to verify.

Look for “Reachability” returning a value of 1 (true) means Plex.tv can see in.
Not-reachable (blocked) = 0
