Cant connect to Plex outside local network

Server Version#:1.31.3.6819

Hello,

Does anyone have issue with remote connection outside local network? For some reason I cant connect to Plex outside local network. It must be Plex issue (I wonder WHY?!) because I dont have issue with other services. Also Plex Dash working fine. Some bad update or what is going on?

My remote access has stopped overnight, I have rebooted the server, checked everything else, my IP has not changed, the port is accessible from the internet and is alive.

Something must be going wrong on the plex side of things.

I am having this issue as well. With both of my plex servers using two different ISPs. Relay works…but that is no good.

Note I have Tried these versions with ubuntu today as well all have same issue:

1.31.0.6654
1.31.2.6810
1.31.1.6782

Oh sorry this is also for both WIndows and Ubuntu versions as I have a server of each.

Down for me as well.

My plex server on Windows 10 is currently getting this message for remote connection: Not available outside your network

Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network. You currently have Remote Access enabled through a manually-specified port. If you wish to disable Remote Access, you will need to remove your manual port forwarding from your router.

However, I still have remote users connected and streaming fine. I can connect to my server on my phone as well (not using wifi, using cell signal) Nothing has changed on my end. Must be a plex issue. Remote seems to still be working, just getting the above message in my remote section on server.

I’m having the same issue. Went down at 754pm cst. Says I’m not visible. Tested on cellular with my phone and it works. Not sure what’s going on. Status page shows all good

+1

I have a Windows and NAS server on the same network. Both are showing the “Not available outside your network” error but streams seem to be working
Very odd

Edit: Just saw this

Hi

i have 3 plex server and all 3 of the is the same thing ““Not available outside your network””

1 at home and 2 external servers

i’m sure it PLEX issue i think

Maybe it will be fine soon

It’s not really a problem if it’s still working, I guess

I just know there’s more than a few guys out there right now cursing and tearing apart their network trying to figure out what’s wrong

Here, I don’t know how current this list is.

This is the list I have and PMS likes it.

I always get instantaneous “Remote Access”.

The biggest problem I encounter with folks is

  1. They’re using UPNP on a modem/router which has a FULL UPnP Tabl
  2. They manually forwarded TCP from WAN to 32400 on the LAN –
But forgot to open the port on the host.

This list might be completely out of date – :person_shrugging:

Caveat Emptor

This is not the case… our servers were all working up until a few hours ago. Nothing has changed on our end. I have disabled relay on both of my servers and they still appear to work from outside the network. Ports are open, ports are forwarded, several users have servers in different physical locations that are exhibiting this same behavior. There is something definatly wrong with the service at this time; hopefully a dev will see this thread and be able to figure out what is going on.

Not only that I am getting Caution symbols for the plex servers that are shared with me now.

Yet in saying this, currently I have one person connected externally and watching TV without issue.

This started overnight while I was in bed and nothing on my network has changed in months.

I also have no outside connection.
Checked Plex status and says all is working but it’s not.
I pinged the 172.x.x.x.x ip and came back fine
I’m in Australia.

Where is Plex Base located anyone knows, Im Sure there not 24/7 because none of staff has said a word . so most likely there closed but if anyone has outside network issue Where Remote Access keeps turning of immediatly and display says no outside connection in red but you have indirect connection and relays happenning with Warning yellow Symbols post here.

had some coffee and pinched myself to make sure this wasnt a nightmare, but in Fact it is!!! Please Help us Dev!!!

When PMS “works until a few hours ago”

  1. nslookup plex.tv – confirm it’s not DNS
  2. traceroute plex.tv – make sure the path to Plex.tv works.

I also need DEBUG log file ZIP to see what’s happening.

I can see most issues there
