I’ve read every thread I could get my hands on regarding this topic: Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network. The only thing that’s changed that I can think of is that I installed Kodi and the pseudotv addon as well as some other plugins for kodi.
Things I’ve done so far to try and remedy my situation:
Restarted modem/router and computer multiple times.
Upgraded to server 0.9.16.6
Given my PC (the one with the server) a static IP
Enabled port forwarding on my router* hopefully I did this right
Removed all firewalls on router just to see if it worked. It did not
Everything worked fine a few days ago. Any ideas?
When I enabled port forwarding it looks like this on my router:
Service Name: Plex (I wrote ‘Plex’ but I assume this doesn’t matter)
Service Type: TCP/UDP
Server IP Address: The IP address I entered matches the private static IP address on the plex server remote access page
Server IPv6: (I left this blank)
Start Port: 32420 (I entered the specified port on the plex server remote access page)
End Port: 32420 (I entered the specified port on the plex server remote access page)
I experience the same problem.
From working flawlessly for ages all of a sudden my plex server is not visible outside my network.
And this without me making any changes. (well thats what you always says
but in this case I am not aware of any)
Running PLEX Media Server 0.9.16.6 (upgraded from .5 when trying to find root cause) in a Mac Mini.
This is what I have tried so far with no luck. (with may restarts I should say)
- Changed from manual port forwarding to UpnP on my router (netgera Nighthawk R7000)
- Disable any parental controls of the router
- Disable any blacklisted site in my router
- Disabled antivirus SW on my computer
- factory reset of my router
- Make sure firewall disabled in my mac mini
- Restarted my fiber connection to my ISP
- complete format and reinstall of EL Capitan and PLEX 0.9.16.6 (aoch)
Now I am running out of ideas.
Anyone who knows what could have caused this or any logs I can look at to try to trouble shoot
I am getting desparate here.
Any ideas appreciated
/Regards
EDIT: Please disregard from above post for the time being. It turned out that my ISP currently is changing their network and apparently introducing som NAT functionality inside their network. Thats why PLEX did not get the right IP address. I just wish that they tell us customer before hand… Many hours wasted of my week-end and this also explains why my VPN “call home” function stopped all of a sudden.
Well it works now. I didn’t change anything,
