I have a desktop computer that I was/am using as a plex server. It was running windows 7 and working just fine until the latest update. Now Remote Access does not work. A friend has a Linux machine that runs his so I tried running it on my linux desktop but the results are the same. I have both set with a static IP and port forwarding set. When I disable/re-enable remote access it connects for 5-10 seconds then drops. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Check windows firewall and make sure plex is allowed for both public and private. Other than that, double check all of your network settings in your router(s). But if it’s not working on either Nix or Windows, that’s typically going to point to a network problem.

The Linux machine is working. Plex says that it’s not, but it is.
Could you attach the logs and hopefully someone could see where it’s failing.
One other thing worth checking is that your ISP has not changed anything to block access.
