Plex and remote access has been working well for years now.

I have a Plex Pass lifetime subscription

I recently did the update to 1.42.1.10060. Then today did the password reset.

I have Comcast/Xfinity cable service but do not use their xFi junk. I have my own cable modem that is plugged into my Unifi system.

The Plex Remote settings have not changed (double checked and everything correct). The Unifi port forwarding settings have not changed (double checked and everything correct).

The only changes have been the Plex server update and password reset.

Private 192.168.xxx.yyy : 32400 ← Public 98.198.xxx.yyy : 32400 x Internet

Got a green arrow between private and public. A red X between public and internet.

Using https://canyouseeme.org I get a green Success: I can see your service on 98.198.xxx.yyy on port (32400). Your ISP is not blocking port 32400

I have tried to uncheck ‘manually specify public port’, apply: no connection. Recheck it and apply, still no connection.

Plex server is running on a Win10 Pro box v22H2. I turned off all the Windows Defender firewalls and tried to enable the remote connection, still no connection.

I have read through:

Forum Remote Access category. The latest 10 or so related postings.

My wife and I are both currently traveling at different locations so not having this working is not that great.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

same. update (firmware and the password )has killed me too. still trying to fix.

This is also happening to me under the same circumstances. Hitting the “Retry” button seems to establish the connection to plex HQ but then this reverts after some unknown time.

And after 4 days it magically shows a green arrow between the internet and my public IP address.

I HATE magic fixes.

You do not know if what you were attempting to do fixed it, if someone or something changed on the service side, nothing documented. Just at the mercy of “I hope I get a magic fix next time this crashes and burns…”
