Plex Media Server Remote Access

I have 2 Plex servers running behind a single firewall and on the same local network.

192.168.1.30 firewall routes TCP only 32400 to 32400

192.168.1.32 firewall routes TCP only 32500 (eexternally) to 32400 (internal)

I can hit the plex system on port 32500 if I manually specify the port on my web browser. However, under remote access the system says Not available outside your network.

Any thoughts? Can you not run 2 plex systems in the same household to the same external IP?

The port forwarding must go into the configuration of the network gateway – i.e. your router.

In the firewalls of the individual Plex server machines, there is no port forwarding necessary.
Only an opening of the port 32400, which is done automatically by the setup process of Plex media server.
Just verify that the network connection of the Plex server is categorized by Windows as “private” (i.e. it must not be “public”).

After creating the port forwardings, you must put the external port number into the configuration of each individual server.
(Settings - [server name] - ‘Show Advanced’ - Remote Access - “Manually specify public port”.
