Not enough cpu to transcode!?! BUT I DO!

hi everyone, I’m new to Plex and I have recently set up a server running on ubuntu desktop. I have a decent system that i repurposed with a core I7 3770 3.4Ghz. It has a passmark score of 9291. I assumed that would be more than good enough to transcode 1080p video outside of my home network. unfortunately I keep getting the message “not enough cpu for conversation of this item” even when I am on an outside wi-fi network. Can anyone give me some help on this!

We need more details like what server number you on, your internet speeds both upload and download. And also what kind of media are you trying to transcode.

Im on 1.13.9.5456. I’m away from home for the weekend but if i recall its about 21 down and 9 or 10 up. It’s not the best. I had a small collection of 1080p (H.264) music videos that I thought i would test before any real content.

You didn’t mention what speed you get when you are away and have to use others wifi or mobile internet. Do you also have a gpu to help with the transcoding?

I’m currently 80 down and 14 up in the away network. No not yet on the gpu

What device are you trying to watch plex on? You may have to upload your file logs so we can see the problem.

Ok won’t be able to unload logs tonight but I am currently trying to stream to a iPhone and a laptop.
