I have upgraded my basic ryzen Plex server PC to an custom pc with Intel. Since then it is able to stream if I am in the same internet , however once I go remote it says that the server ain’t powerful enough to transcode anything , from 4K or even a 360p video .
Now before the upgrade , it was able to stream media , it was a bit slow or it was taking a good min to load but it still worked. And once I made the upgrades it hasn’t been able to stream anything at any quality. I have already added (32400) port forwarding as well.
I have also turned off the relay setting on setting and that still doesn’t work. I also reinstalled Plex and nothing still
It says this : “Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again. Could not direct play because: Not enough bandwidth for direct play of this item. Required bandwidth is 4473kbps and only 720kbps is available. Could not transcode because: Not enough CPU for conversion of this item.”
Now I did go to my router and port forwarded the new PC, and have went to setting and updated all the drivers. I also tried to make an allocated ram for transcoding, I tried both default and setting it to the specified ram
Old Spect:
- Custom Basic HP motherboard
- Ryzen 3 3000 with CPU graphics
- 16 GB ram
New PC:
- ASRock Z370 PRO4/OEM LGA 1151 (300 Series)
- Intel i7 9700K
- RTX 2070 gigabyte windforce OC
- 48 GB of DDR4 ram
Side note : What I did was I just put the old storage (M.2 and 4 TB) that had all my media and just placed it onto the new motherboard , and it worked , I didn’t need to reinstall windows or transfer anything . I have already checked if the port is open and installed and reinstalled plex sever times.
I belive it is a cpu error of some kind , becasue if I change the quality settings on the remote play I get this new error :
Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again. Could not direct play because: App cannot direct play this item. No direct play video profile exists for protocol http, with container mkv, and video codec h264. Could not transcode because: Not enough CPU for conversion of this item.
Please help or if you all have any suggestions lmk !
