Good morning, so recently I added 2 media sources with similar naming and the server automatically match them together, which is no big issue, since I usually just go in and manually fix the match. My issue is that I can’t find one of the shows on the search, even after using the imdb-xxxxx and the tvdb-xxxxx codes. It only shows the one that it is matching both of them with. Why won’t it find the right one even when I’m manually adding the codes, is there a fix for this? Thank you.
Make sure you’re trying to match the item in the correct library type, e.g. you cannot match a movie in a TV show library.
Check when the title was added to the online databases (i.e. TVDB, IMDB), if it’s very recent (i.e. added less than 24 hours ago) it could just be that it isn’t yet ingested into our metadata database yet, give it another day and try again.
If it’s an adult title, make sure you have “Include adult content” enabled in the Advanced library settings.
I’m not sure when they were added, how can I check that?
It’s not an adult title.
The shows it seems to be having are:
It seems the system is pulling the naming of one but the metadata of the other one.
It is using the name and picture of “The Diana Investigations”, but it is grabbing the description of " Investigating Diana: Death in Paris". Those are the two I want to separate.
Thank you for your reply, I had already tried the unmatching so they would separate, but the issue seems to be Plex is not able to pull the right Metadata for Investigating Diana: Death in Paris.
The one that says “The Diana Investigations” should actually be Investigating Diana: Death in Paris
Yeah I tried it myself and I see what you’re saying. If it’s listed in TVDB but there’s no match in Plex at ALL. It goes back to what drzoidberg33 was saying.
Although, this Is not always the case. I just fixed matched a few TV shows that I added months ago that didn’t show up.
It took so long to be updated that I actually forgot I matched them manually by adding my own posters and show information.
I’m afraid the metadata team may have overlooked this one mistaking it for the other. Such similar names with the same year? I can see how that could happen.
Hopefully they notify them and it gets resolved but you may have to just manually match this one for the time being.
