Nothing Plays anymore

Afternoon all,

Been a plex member for years, never had any major issues I could not get to the bottom of but this one has stumped me.

A little while ago Plex stopped playing anything spent a few hours this weekend but still no joy, repaired installed various version still nothing.

I had a video play on my android phone but would not play on a browser, amazon firestick or the plex app on y samsung TV so leads me to believe something on the server side.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks trumpy I’ll do that tonight.

Trumpy,

for some reason looks like it is now playing on my browser but still not on my TV which is pretty much the only place I use it. attached is the zip as requested.

This is straight after not playing on the TV

I’m having a similar problem, I can no longer play anything. Perhaps its due to the last update? I wonder if you can downgrade?

Thanks Trumpy, I’ll give it a go.

I have confirmed that Plex ver. 1.8.1.4139 works fine on another PC with the problem PC’s library. So I’m quite confident that the problem isn’t with the source files or the media that they’re on. Both PC’s run Windows 7 64bit and both have been working great since I first installed almost a year ago. Until now updates didn’t cause problems. The problem PC has ver. 1.9.3.4290 and can’t stream anything locally or remotely. UI is fine and library updates all seem to be good.

I’m a bit confused by your instructions to go to my AppData\Plex Media Server\Updates since the last version I see there is ver. 1.9.2.4285 and nothing more up to date. When I launch it I wants only to install, not uninstall. Should I go ahead and install or uninstall Plex through WIndows’ “programs” control panel? Will all my libraries have to be rebuilt?

Update: I went ahead and uninstalled ver. 1.9.3.4290, installed ver. 1.9.2.4285 and still had the “unable to stream” problem. Any ideas?

@TFLeonard Are you playing back using IE 11? There is an issue with IE 11 we are looking into. Try using another browser and see if you have the same issue.

Thank you MovieFan.Plex, I have confirmed that the problem is with IE11. Using Chrome worked and I can now stream to my PS3.

Apologies to trumpy81 for not having provided the logs etc. I had originally posted my more detailed question in the regular support area and just stumbled on this thread. In the future where is the best place to post tech support questions?
