So when a movie doesn’t match and is sitting there and I hit “fix match” and chose the plex movie scanner to match it, then select English, since it defaults to somewhere in India, that isn’t manually using it? that is when it rarely finds the movie posters
Ok, you can switch to the new scanner with fix match, it clearly fails on the posters which is when i then go to the movie database to get it, so whatever, that is manual on a case by case basis.
I did change those to the new plex movie anyways. we’ll see if it has better luck finding the posters. And judging by how often this came up today, I should know again tomorrow if it continues to happen or if changing that scanner to Plex Movie indeed did solve the problem. I made that change off legacy to the new one on all video libraries.
Apologies for my ambiguous wording. It is indeed possible to do that, but it doesn’t work as expected.
Careful! After doing this, you must perform “Refresh Metadata” on the whole library, or you will get major issues with metadata – particularly when doing quality upgrades or moving media files.
Ok, all video libraries are changed to use the Plex Movie scanner (looks just like your screenshot, minus the German) and each library has done the Metadata update for all. Just added two movies.
In Sonarr at least there is a the “Connect” area of its settings that allows you to set up and have it update the server when the import, upgrade, rename is done. Need to enter your auth token and auth with plex.tv.
I assume Radarr and such have the same or similar thing.
Since I can see exactly what you are doing, dismissing this as the most likely culprit and me not understanding, I am going to visually point this out for you. You are talking about linking radarr to plex such as this
So you’ll notice, one says “Add” connection while the one I do actually use says “Edit” connection. So yes, it is possible, and NO I do NOT use it to inform plex of anything, I much prefer my server tells me when something is on it when it is ACTUALLY there, not theoretically.
I would add a single movie however you normally do it while nothing else is going on with server ( no one else watching something etc) then after it scans in and you can see the double get the all the server logs. especially the scanner logs.
I will gather the logs again the next time it happens. Yesterday there were about 6 movies added and none duplicated. The logs for right after there was a duplication are available if you want me to send them to you, let me know.
