Sounds like something where logs would be super handy 
I have logs from this happening to me as well. If a Plex employee would actually like to see them.

Sigh. Yet another complainer here. This is very annoying.
I will note that in more recent Android versions you can āminimizeā a notification, which does make a bit less annoying. But still annoying, because itās there when you actively look at notifications.

Two recent issues, the same āPlaying Nextā being stuck and now the aspect ratios do not update between videos. So end up with some videos squeezed horizontally.
Neither of these issues happens on my iPad pro.
Please please fix! Neither of these problems were happening, at least to me, ~ 2-4 weeks ago.
I have a similar problem, but possibly worse because I cast a movie to our bedside Google Nest Hub (or whatever itās called these days). So I pause the movie and stop the casting from my Android phone. All seems well, but then a few minutes later we hear a āboopā sound from the Hub and the Hub is now saying waiting for Plex. And on my phone I have a notification that shows the paused movie, and thereās no way to get rid of the notification. I know some people say itās technically not a notification, but that should make no difference - why canāt I get rid of the notification when I tap on the X?
And in my Plex app the cast icon is not lit up, so the app thinks itās not connected, but the notification says it is, as does the device it was casting to. I canāt find any way of exiting the Plex app (and removing the Android mini-window also has no effect). In the end I had to do a force stop.
Unfortunately from this thread it seems that as with so many other issues, Plex canāt be bothered to fix real problems but instead uses resources on things like news and pushing Tidal.
I that years later this is still the thing. I have the same problem for years now on multiple phones and casting devices⦠Not cool

The notification is stuck whenever I loose connection to the server. Canāt close it. I need to go in apps/plex and then force close itā¦
This is what, a 3 years old problem? How can something that should be very easy to fix be left like that for yearsā¦

I also have this problem after just changing from iphone to android.
+1 Same here for a while. Plex on Nvidia Shield with Android 9, PMS on a QNAP NAS.
