When casting to my chromecast audio, I do often get a stuck now playing notification. The plex application disconnect from the chromecast device, but the notification remain. The only way to get rid of it is to force close the plex app.

Just commenting to say I have this exact same issue. Plex on synology. Android Nougat. Plex notification on phone hangs both in the bar and in the dropdownmenu.

Same issue here. This bug has been with Plex for years and developers completely ignored it. Never even got a single reply to my several bug reports.

I have had this issue for years. You have to go into the android application information page and stop plex to make it go away.

Yes, same issue when using Chromecast (that’s all I ever use).
When I start a playlist the first song is displayed and tracked on the Android App. But, when the server moves on to the next, the app doesn’t update. It’s stays stuck on the first track played. Very annoying.
This happens with Galaxy S7 and Samsung Tab S.
Having the same issue with Galaxy Note 5. Used to work but started acting up a few months ago.
Another “me too”, happens pretty frequently when casting to a Samsung smart TV. Devs, this is part of your image problem - between this and totally broken Sync on Android, my family is starting to expect Plex to be broken. You don’t want that!
Same issue on multiple Android devices. First song shows correctly when playing music to Chromecast audio; the now playing does not update, either on the main android plex screen, the notification bar, or in the playlist.
When I first setup and started using plex, it seems like it worked great; then at some point a month or so ago, it broke.
Does Plex monitor these forums?
Well the new update just pushed out to my device…and the playlist is STILL stuck. Come on guys, this is bug that needs to be fixed!
Any response from Plex on this? Seems to be a common problem, but I’m not seeing any official response. Google Home app shows correct song, but Plex app for Android does not update what is currently playing after the first song.
just purchased the plex app and having this, would be really great if they could fix it.
Has been working MUCH better for me lately! Not necessarily perfectly, but almost!
This is still an issue. Had it today on the most current build on android 6.16.2.4628.
Problem still exists in Version 7.2.2. 6114 on Android 8.1. On my Pixel 2XL as wells as on my Zenfone 5 and my girlfriends One Plus 6. All on the latest available version.
It’s a problem here as well on Nokia 8 running Android 8.1.0 and Plex version 7.2.2.1.6114

Same issue here, it happens everytime I cast something to a google home speaker. Once the music stops or I leave, it stays stuck as a notificaiton on my samsung phone… painful
