"Now playing" section on the dashboard is not showing anyone watching anything

I’m guessing there was an update pushed out, but I’m not seeing any activity in the “Now Playing” section on the dashboard for anyone except myself. The expected result is to see all the content being used from any user who has access to my server.

There are 2 people watching videos when I took this screenshot.

I’m getting this as well where both local and remote are streaming something.

I have the same issue. Plex version 1.18.9.2571 on CentOS.

This only happens when my friend casts to apple TV. It then only reappears when paused. Weird glitch ngl

I am also noticing this issue the past few months. The now playing dashboard and user history is completely inaccurate. I am using Windows Server 2012 R2 with Plex Media Server v1.19.1.2630 currently.

I am having the same issue with shared users who are casting to Chromecast. Dashboard does not show them under “Now Playing” and the play history does not record the content as having been watched. Does not seem to affect overall functionality of Plex, however does keeping track on what is happening on server more problematic.

I’m seeing the same thing on 1.19.1.2645

Same on new Amazon Fire TV4K

Is your PMS upto date?

Sadly mine isn’t. It’s on a Terramaster and I have no way of manually updating PMS. I have to wait until Terramaster make an update available, which isn’t always timely. I have 1.18.8.2527.

Ok I’m pretty sure you will have to wait for the server update.
It’s probably not client specific but more a server side issue.

Okay, will do. Thanks for the advice.

And this now seems to be broken again intermittently.

Yep, same issue with mine right now. Server version 1.19.5.3112 running Windows 10. It seems to be only some streams that doesn’t show up. I can see the bandwidth usage though, but I can’t see anything else.

Having this issue when a remote user is casting to Chromecast. Plex version 1.19.5.3035.

Same problem with 1.20.2.3343 (Beta) and 1.20.1
