I’ve been using Plex since 2009. Always worked. Since the latest update with free films…I can no longer see my content. Server is empty. Dreadful.
The free movies does not have any thing to do with your server.
So if you actually want help instead of complaining about the free movies/tv then you should post some actual specific details with versions, logs, etc.
Well, I’ve been using PMP for a few days (The Expanse audio is horrific - needing Leveling to bring the voices out of the noise of space) and every time I fire it up my home page is blank, requiring re-pinning and a customization reset.
Could be something like that - 'cause it also happens on my FireTV app.
If we could get some more details - that would probably help.
Agreed. All of the web content in Plex is absolutely horrid. I’m currently seeking alternatives because I’m not sure how long we’re going to be able to hide any and all trace of this frankly garbage content.
Same here, I can’t find my server! Tried re-installing it but it won’t come back.
Help please?
Agreed…my message was not very useful from a software dev perspective. That’s beer for you… However, after updating the app and server I only see the most popular content from Plex and If I try to load my libraries they come back empty. I’ll do some proper investigation and indeed check the server logs.
As someone suggested…if you reload a few time…the content appears…
I have unpinned the Plex content in the app setting and now all of my content and libraries have returned.
If we can’t complain here, then where can we complain? And where’s tech support?
Looking forward to your responses.
“The free movies does not have any thing to do with your server.” <— Really, then why are they appearing together with the content on my server?
Oh, you can complain all you want. No worries there…lol
In the sense that the presence or absence of a Plex Media Server in no way affects your access to the Plex Movies & TV content, the same as for Plex’s other online media sources. The ability to view both the online content and your own is a feature of the clients, not the server.
Which, currently, is an irritant to Server Owners now tasked with Educating ALL ‘Their’ users, now claimed by Plex as their own, leaving any ‘User Issues’ (for Users that don’t read Plex Forums, or understand why ‘Our Content’ suddenly has advertisements in it) up to the Server Owners to deal with.
Jeeze!!! Can’t make everyone Happy huh!!!
Oh, I know. I’ve witnessed the gnashing of teeth and general consternation of this (very passionate) group of Plex Media Server owners on these forums. And I’m glad I’m not in their position.
At times you need a bunker.
You can most certainly complain all you want, I was simply suggesting to the OP that if they wanted help, then they need to provide more details.
It seems apparent with the lack of further details, they wanted to complain, under the guise of requesting help.
Guilty. <—when it’s clear my pleas for help are ignored, but my complaints are (mysteriously) addressed in the next update… but that IS the exception, not the rule.
More details would help. No question about that.
It may seem counter intuitive, but complaints can seem to be more easily addressed or responded to, than trying to get or provide help.
Complaining does not require details or any actual communication.
Requesting or providing help, requires communication, details, and analysis.
Can’t you turn it off in the Web Client, Settings, Online Media Sources?
No worries. Let me be more clear:
Stop pushing 3rd party content and bringing it to the forefront of the PLEX ecosystem. If you want to be a streaming service, then PLEX should be honest with their clients about their intent.
Thank you.
Is this exclusively a tech support forum? The header says “General Discussions.”
Where is the “official” tech support interface for PLEX?
If “complaining” is not allowed here, then where or to whom should users voice their opinions?
Are you an employee or official representative of PLEX?
