Nuked Everything, Started Over. Still Empty Libraries

I’ve tried everything, pretty frustrated to be honest. Even killed the original folders out of diskstation and created new folders and still doesnt work. Here is one example of how a photo library that has photos from one of my son’s tablets is currently set up:

I can see the jpgs in both diskstation/filestation and directly in windows as a mapped drive no problem. I uninstalled PMS from package center, then deleted the root plex and plexmediaserver directories out of filestation/control panel. Then I made sure there were no plex or plexmediaserver users in any of the permissions folders, then I created new media folders in control panel and reinstalled the latest version of pms for DSM 7 64bit on my DS1019. Added libraries in plex and still can’t see any media.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the default (Synology-provided) photo shared folder?

If so? Don’t. Create your own.

DSM likes to take exclusive control of their premade shared folders.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the case so I created a fresh folder to put the photos in when I wiped everything and restarted. Still no luck.

Sorry for the delay, nuked again and tried to start over with just one library that is my movies which is located here “/volume1/media/Movies”. Same results where it says ““Movies” is empty
Expecting more? Visit the Manage Libraries page to add folders and scan library files.”. PlexMediaServer still has Read/Write on the permissions tab in Control Panel/Shared Folder/media

I’m having the same issue… My TVshow library can’t scan new videos.

The permissions did not extend / were dropped in the sub folders.

Using File Station,
Right-Click → Properties → Permission
Grant permission for PlexMediaServer and make certain to Apply to this folder, sub-folders and files

I’m sure I’ve granted permission.All existing resources could be read, even transferred to other folders in time.But the new resources can not be read.

I think you just need to wait until all the work it’s doing is completed.

PMS only scans / processes one section at a time.

Although that didn’t resolve my issue, it lead me to this which fixed it
None of these check boxes were toggled on. Also in the General tab the Owner was not set to “admin” and the Group was set to “users”. I set both of these tabs as shown and now I’m in business!
