Nvidia Shield 4k Direct Play buffering?

I have an Nvidia Shield Pro (500gb) with my 4k library copied on internal storage, and I run into an issue where some videos buffer and the app crashes, but on other 4k videos there is no issue. I have tried re-ripping but nothing seems to work.

well without more details, its unlikely you are going to get much help.

for starters, you should post the xml of the file(s) that crash.

related logs from where the crash occurred would be good as well.

I am unsure where to find the xml files or what the relevant crash logs are, or where to find them for that matter.

navigate to the movie that crashes
look for the menu where the 3 dots … are and click the 3 dots
click get info which should pop up a dialog with various info about the file
click the view xml link and copy paste the info to a post here

the logs are available in 2 places
watch logs in real time https://app.plex.tv/desktop# > settings > scroll all the way to the bottom of the left side menu bar > console

download logs to your pc https://app.plex.tv/desktop# > settings > troubleshooting > download logs

also @ settings > general: make sure DEBUG logging is checked, make sure verbose logging is UNCHECKED, make sure allow token is UNCHECKED

play your movie, while it is playing you can monitor the console, when it crashes you should see any errors or what plex says is going on.
could be a file error, or transcoder error, or whatever, the console log should help you some kind of info as to why the video crashed or stopped and you can either interpret from that info or post it and see if anyone else has some insight

once you are able to see the errors, you can also try searching for them and see if other people have had them and what you can do about them.
