Nvidia shield how to play optimized versions?

I have very high bitrate 4k content. I have two shields connected to the same switch at 1g. I can’t play 4k remux files at full bitrate on one but can play the same files on the other, both with the same settings.

That is very frustrating but the one which cannot stream the 4k (and some very high bitrate 1080p) is connected to a 1080p display anyway. The bitrate on the sources are just way too high to transcode on the fly. So I started looking at the options to optimize. I’ve converted a couple videos but I see no option to play them on the shield. How you play a pre-converted copy on your shield?

On the pre-play screen, scroll to the right until you see “More.” Select it. You should then see “Play Version.” Select it. You should then see a list of the available versions of the movie.
