NVIDIA Shield missing Scan Library Files command

No Scan Library option for me either. What happened? How can I add new movies without this option? Any solutions?

I thought I was losing my mind, and then did a google search and found this forum thread.

I canā€™t remember how far back, but didnā€™t Plex use to scan and auto updated the libraryā€™s every time one would open Plex? (Or set a preference when to scan)?

Anyways, last year I noticed this didnā€™t happen, and thus discovered I had to click the ā€œScanā€ button every time I added content.

ā€¦And now they removed this abilityā€¦WOW!

As alternative, you can force scan using Plex App (NOT the server) on your mobile, tablet, PC (Windows App), or Mac (Plex App for Mac). Of course you have to be on the same wifi network when using the app and login credentials.

When downloading the app, just make sure you select ā€œApps & Devicesā€, then choose your device/hardware with the link below:

I have the same issue on my Sony bravia Android tv

It drives me crazy tooā€¦donā€™t understand why they took it out. Uninstall the updates help for a day, but it update itself again, so eventually I uninstall the updates every day. (Nvidia Shield)

It is back in the latest version that Iā€™ve had served up on my Nvidia Shield, so I guess is rolling out to everyone. This comes with a new player and resolution switching, which in true Plex style, brings a load of new bugs! It messed up my Shield box in the sizing of all the UI everywhere. Where it switched to 1080, it was fine, when it switched back to 4K on leaving Plex, the UI wasnā€™t resized correctly, so become a quarter of the size it should be, very small! Even a restart didnā€™t fix it, I fixed it in the end by switching manually to 1080P and then restarted the Shield, then reset it to 4K and that fixed it.

Yeah, I got the update, the scan button is backā€¦and there is no highlight on the selection in the folder view, the player delayed the sound more than a minute by the end of an 20 minutes show. :))))

Where is the button - I do not see it. and Bump - why remove such a critical feature in the first place?
